¡Presentando Pan! With LAUP

Detail of “She’s Still Awake” oil on canvas by Picardo.  Commissioned for ¡Presentando Pan!

On September 22nd, 2017 we were honored to be invited to share ¡Presentando Pan! on the Hope College campus as part of LAUP’s (Latin Americans United for Progress) annual art and film festival, Tulipanes.

The event featured live performance in Spanish and English written by Roel Garcia and Anna Gabhart and performed by Josè Angulo and Mariana Ramirez-Franco.  Jonathan Gabhart on djembe accompanied rap-baking by Jose and new dance from Jazlyn Ruiz.

The featured art work included paintings by Erick Picardo, table cloth designed by Sayde Anderson, installation by Hope faculty/staff Sara Alsum-Wassenaar and Lisa Walcott and prints by Alynn Guerra of Red Hydrant Press.

Special thanks to Hope College food services for doing ALL of the baking for this iteration and even donating ingredients.  Delicious conchas and pan de campo were enjoyed by all!

We’ve still got some t-shirts available for sale
